Still Working and Playing Hard

This weeked the Eads Eagle basketball teams played Springfield on Friday at Springield. The girls basketball team had a successfull game taking home the victory and defeated Springfield with a final score of 49-32. The boys played a really good game going into over time, but lost to Springfield with a final score of 53-46. Both of the teams had another basketball game on Saturday against Walsh in Eads. The girls and the boys both had a victory defeating Walsh. The girls had a final score of 33-20. The Eads girls are now 4-0, good job girls! The boys had a second night of going into over time, and defeated Walsh with a final score of 50-45. Both of the teams played with good hear and did a great job. They now have the Holiday Basketball Tournament in Lamar this weekend. Good Luck Eagles!

Last week the Eads wrestling team had a quad-meet on Thursday against Limon and Las Animas in Eads. They also had big tournament on Saturday in Limon. The Eads wrestling team placed 4th out of a pool of 23 teams. Seniors Taylor Weirich and Justin Lenox were tournament champions. Reagan Lane placed 2nd, and Blaine Winder placed 3rd in the tournament. Next the Eads wrestlers go to Holly for another tournament.

Successful First Week

Last week the Eads Eagle basketball teams went to Deer Trail on Thursday. The girls came home with a victory defeating Fowler with a final score of 50-41. Unfortunately the boys got defeated their first game with a final score of 62-36. On Friday the girls and the boys both played Fowler in Eads. They both had a successful game dominating the Fowler Grizzlies. The girls had an amazing defeat and ended their game with a final score of 55-16, they are now 2-0 at the beginning of the basketball season. The boys also played great and ended their game with a final score of 51-48.

The Eads Eagle wrestling team also did a great job. The whole team together did not place in the tournament in Akron on Saturday, but we had several individuals place in their weight limits. Justin Lenox won 4th at 285lbs. Blake Robertson won 2nd at 126lbs. Reagan Lane also won 2nd at 132lbs. Taylor Weirich won 1st at 160lbs. They all worked hard and did a great job. Good Job to all of the Eads Eagles!

Basketball and Wrestling Time

The Eads Eagle basketball teams are now coming up to their first basketball games. They have a busy first week of games. First they have a game this Thursday against Deer Trail in Deer Trail. They then have a game right after that on Friday in Eads against Fowler. This weekend the Eads wrestling team also has a wrestling tournament in Akron this Saturday. Believe in yourselves, you can do it. Work and play hard to bring home a first game victory. Goodluck to both the boys basketball team and the girls basketball team.

End of a Good Season

Last weekend the Eads Lady Eagle volleyball team had a good first game in the Colorado State Tournament beating Dove Creek in 5 games. They unfotunately had a bad outcome losing their second match in 3 games and had to go home. Good job ladies you did a fantastic job representing your school and you can go far in years to come, keep striving to go farther!

The Eads Eagle football team advanced to the championship game last weekend against Fleming at Fleming. The final score was 84-56 with Fleming winning the championship game. The Eads Eagle football team also did a great job working and playing hard. You guys will go far if you still work and play hard as a team Good job Eagles!!!

It is now the end of the volleyball and football seasons for the Eads Eagles; they are now moving into basketball and wrestling season and will do a fantastic job!

Good Luck at State!

We are now entering the most exciting part of any sports season, STATE!!! This weekend our Eads Eagle volleyball team will be leaving to go to Denver for the Colorado State Tournament, and hope to bring back a first place victory with them. This will be the first time in 20 years that the Eads Lady Eagle volleyball team has advanced to the Colorado State Tournament. In their pool they will play Dove Creek first, who is ranked 12th. Then they play Weldon Valley second, who is ranked 1st. Our Eads Lady Eagles are ranked 8th. Keep working together and you will achieve a lot. Good Job Ladies, and Good Luck!



Also, this weekend our Eads Eagle football team has also done a great job advancing to a state semi final game this Saturday against Deertrail at home. Good Luck and play hard!

State Time!

This weekend the Eads Eagle volleyball team had regionals on Friday in Lamar. First the Eads Eagles (#1 District 2) played McClave (#3 District 2) and won 4-1. Kim (#2 District3) then played McClave (#3 Disctrict 2). Then the Eads Lady Eagles (#1 District 2) played Kim (#2 Disctrict 3)and and an amazing win, winning regionals in 3 games. The Eads Lady Eagles now are moving on to the state tournament this weekend in Denver, hoping to bring home a first place victory! The Eads Eagle football team also advanced to the state semi finals with a successful win against Briggsdale with a final score of 52-46, after two personal fouls that gave Briggsdale within 12 yards of winning. Good Job Eagles! Bring home more victories, you can do it!

Ending the Season Successfully

This week the Eads Eagle volleyball team had districts on Friday in Wiley. The Eads Lady Eagles were ranked #1 going into districts.They played Granada first, who was ranked 6th, and had an easy win in 3 sets. Then they played against Mclave, who was ranked 4th, and had a little struggle in the first game but then made a comeback winning 3-1. They then got to travel to McClave for the championship game. They had a great game and won the championship game against Kit Carsonin 3 easy sets. They now move on to Regionals at OJC next Saturday, and hope to make it to state. Good Job Lady Eagles! The Eads Eagle football team had a playoff game Saturday at Eads and had an amazing win against Hanover with a final score of 72-8! They now get to move on to State Quarter Finals. Good Job Eagles!

Eagles Still Going Strong!

Two weeks ago the Eads Eagle volleyball team had an off game and had a tough loss against Hi-Plains in 3 games. They also had a homecoming game against Flagler on Friday and made a comeback from being down 13 points and defeated the Flagler Panthers in 5 games! The Eads Eagle football team had their homecoming game on Friday also against the Flagler Panthers and had an amazing win with a final score of 56-0! The Eads homecoming king and queen were Marisa Dixon and Kyle Crow. Good Job Eagles, with a successful homecoming week. Last week the Eads football team had a game on Monday against Plainview at Plainview. The Eads volleyball team had a game Tuesday against Granada at home, the lady eagles deafeated Granada 3-1. They also had a game Thursday against Mclave at home, the last home game and the last game until districts, regionals, and state! The Eads Eagle volleyball team is ranked 7th in the state right now, and are on their way to make it to state. The Eads Eagle football team had a long drive up to Primero, but brought home a win with a final score of 74-12! Good Job Eagles!

Successful Eagles

The Eads volleyball and football teams had a successful week last week. The volleyball team played Wiley on Tuesday in Wiley and took a victory from them 3-2, with the final game at 16-14. The Eads Eagle football and volleyball teams both had a game on Friday against Cotopaxi in Eads. The volleyball team defeated them in 3 straight games. The Eads football team defeated Cotopaxi with a final score of 48-19. Their record is now 5-1, and play Flagler Friday night for the Eads Eagle homecoming. Good Luck Eagles!!!

Eagles Can't Be Beat!

Last week the Eads volleyball and football teams had two games. They both played Cheyenne Wells on Tuesday at home, and beat them. They also had a very important game on Friday against Kit Carson at home. The volleyball team defeated them in five games, winning game five with a score of 15-9! The football team deafeated Kit Carson with a score of 73-22! The football team is now 4-0. Good Job Eagles!!!

Eagles Season Begins Strongly


This week the Eads volleyball team had a match against Cheraw at Eads. The Eads Eagles won against Cheraw 3-0! The Eads Eagle football team also had a game against Cheraw at Eads and defeated Cheraw with a final score of 71-19. Great job this week to all of the Eads Eagle sports teams, and good luck for future sporting events.

Upcoming Events

As the Fall 2012 sports season begins, the girls volleyball team has two games. The first game is against Springfield at home on Thursday, and the second game is on Friday against South Baca in Vilas. The football team has a game on Friday in Vilas. The middle school also has a game in Vilas on Friday.  I am excited to play with my new teammates and look forward to a successful season. Go Eagles!!!

Sports Passion!

Sports are a great way to express yourself while doing what you love. They teach you perserverance and how to establish great teamwork. This year in sports will hopefully be a great year, and I will be given many opportunities in addition to having a lot of fun.
