Ending the Season Strongly

Last week the Eads Eagle basketball teams played against the McClave cardinals on Friday. The girls had an outstanding turn out and won against the lady cardinals by almost 20 points. The boys basketball team did not have an as good turn out and lost to the cardinals. This week the boys will be playing at districts on Tuesday against the Kit Carson wildcats at La Junta. The girls basketball team will play on Thursday at Districts in Lamar the girls will play the winner of the Cheyenne Wells and McClave game. The boys will have to win against Kit Carson on Tuesday in order to move on further into Districts.

The Eads wrestlers went to the state tournament in Denver last weekend and did an awesome job. Justin Lenox, a senior, won the 220 pound championship. Another senior, Taylor Werich placed 5th in the 160 weight limit. Blaine, Reagan, and Robert all did an outstanding job also. All of the wrestlers did an amazing job this season and they did an outstanding job at the state tournament. A special congratulations to Justin Lenox for winning the championship.

TO BE AN EAGLE
It's a privilege to be able to call yourself an Eads Eagle. You have to make some sacrifices, but all the sprints in practice pay off on Friday night when you slip on that purple and gold. The people on the other bleachers don't get to wear it. They don't get to stand up and half-shout, half-scream, "We're a bunch of Eagles!" To be an Eagle is to have pride for your school, your colors, and your teammates.
